Follow DNR pier regulations in dock placement.

Having a pier/dock is an amenity which most lake and river owners value.  But placement of piers and docks need to take into account individual property rights, navigation access in the public waters, and protection of aspects of the aquatic ecosystem such as spawning areas and nesting sites.  Wisconsin law regulates the size and number of docks there may be on the shore and where they may be placed.
