This summer WCLRA produced an interesting 8-page publication designed to show how everyone can help to protect the beautiful waters of our county. Created with input from many, the publication details a variety of projects that are relatively easy to undertake. In addition, there are several fun activities to engage people of all ages in puzzles and games which educate about the waters we enjoy here in our county.
To assist with this important educational purpose, Washburn County Lakes & Rivers Association was awarded a grant from the Department of Natural Resources. The grant money was supplemented from WCLRA’s reserve funds. Grant funds are available for some projects which contribute to healthy waters. A brief public presentation outlining ways to apply for financial help will occur August 12, 6-7 p.m. at the Minong Town Hall.
While every attempt was made to assure that all shore land owners received the publication, it is likely that some new owners were missed. Click here to see the full text of the piece. If you wish to receive a printed copy, contact any board member listed on the “Contact Us” page of this website.
